There was a great racing show staged by the DTM in Munich’s Olympiastadion over the last weekend. The event was a great success, although it did not contribute any points to the championship title. Saturday was a relay competition, where Gary Paffett and Christian Vietoris of Mercedes defeated Dirk Werner and Joey Hand of BMW in front of their home crowd. What makes this event jaw-dropping is that the stadium has been transformed into an asphalt (real!) racing track, consisting of two 614 metres course. For the individual competitions on Sunday, Audi driver Mattias Ekstrom beat Jamie Green in the DTM Mercedes AMG C-Coupé in the parallel track.
