The round 2 of Super GT 2012 was a very challenging race. It rained intermittently throughout the rain, and choosing the right tires proved to be a game-changing factor. DENSO KOBELCO SC430 driven by Juichi Wakisaka and Hiroaki Ishiura helped team SARD to their first GT win in 8 years. CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R was leading the race with 15 laps remaining, when the rain started pouring again. He headed back to the pit for a tire change but it turned out that it wasn’t worthwhile. RAYBRIG HSV-010 took the lead after that and in the later stage with 4 laps remaining DENSO KOBELCO SC430 emerged as the winner.
