Gabriele Tarquini in Pole Position for Monza 2012

Gabriele Tarquini will start in the pole position for Monza 2012. His last pole position was at Valencia 2010. SEAT also broke the Chevrolet’s run of 13 consecutive pole positions! Tarquini will start on the grid for race one ahead of the four Chevrolets of Muller, Rob Huff, Alain Menu and Rickard Rydell.

“To be honest no, especially after Tuesday we had a lot of problems, the car was assembled here in Monza, we just tested three times with this new engine,” – Tarquini

This is indeed a very good yet shocking news for SEAT’s Lukoil Racing Team. We will see how will the red car of Gabriele Tarquini competing against the four blue chevy right behind him.

As for race 2, the pole position will be Zengo Motorsport’s Norbert Michelisz driving a BMW 320 TC, ahead of another SEAT car – Lukoil Racing Team’s Aleksi Dudukalo. (The new grid format for race 2 is reversal of the top ten qualifying results – 10th position in the qualifying will take the pole, 9th position will take the second position, and so on)

Is is a very good start for SEAT’s Lukoil Racing Team, with Gabriele Tarquini taking the pole in race 1 and Aleksi Dudukalo in front row of race 2. There will be a very good chance for both drivers to collect points.
